About Silvester Mok Hoi Ching

Silvester Mok is a Hong Kong ceramics artist who works mainly with 3D printed ceramics. His works have been showcased at various local art fairs including Art Basel Hong Kong 2022, Art Central 2024 and Fine Art Asia 2022, alongside with his first two solo exhibitions “Moiré” and “Coherence” and other exhibitions in Hong Kong, mainland China and Taiwan. He is a current member of Contemporary Ceramic Society(Hong Kong) and a PhD student at the City University of Hong Kong.

Mok, an avid ceramicist, is captivated by the intricate process and the visually stunning appearance of printed ceramics. He is mesmerized by the magic of how clay is extruded layer by layer, gradually forming a larger structure before his eyes. Daily sketches inspired by nature forms and anatomies, captured as temporary digital images, have been transformed into fired stoneware through a 3D clay printer. This process allows Mok to explore the evolving role of ceramists in the digital realm and the potential of digital ceramics. His creations delve into the complex relationships between various forms, examining how objects connect, rely on, poke through, or support one another.
